Travel Bug Trip Booking Review from Cannonvale, Queensland
My parents came to australia for holiday from overseas, and I arranged a sailing trip for them via travel bug Whitsundays 2 months ahead, so that's plenty of notice. But on the day, it turned out there is a double booking and we could not get on the boat!!! The boat company have shown sense of responsibility, whereas travel bug's way of dealing with this is "it's not our fault". And did not apologise at all. I booked the trip from travel bug, so if there is any problem, they should be my point of contact, and liaise with the boat company talking about split of responsibility. But they have shown nothing towards my ruined holiday, no responsibility, no apology. Boat company offered to cover my accommodation. However, travel bug only wants to make even more profit from new trip I need to book because of the double booked one! They also sold me wrong tickets to an one day boat trip... I had to pay $168 extra before boarding the boat. Just too Many mistakes! Doubt their qualification. Boat company also said they should have sold me different product for parents. They need to learn their products more. They are very arrogant as well "we made loads f booking, it does not matter to us if we screw up one". Maybe. Does not look like from this website and all of people they have tricked. But if you don't want your holiday to be ruined, don't take the risk!

Travel Bug/Kerring PTY LTD Scam Fraudulent payment taken out of my account
A company called Travel Bug are a part of a company called Kerring PTY LTD, who are actually a part of another company, obviously to avoid being closed down!!! They took money out of my account fraudulently, said they will refund after I threatened to call the police. The refund will take 30 days, and they refuse to direct deposit the funds into my account. I have contacted the ACCC and advise anyone else who has had problems with them to do the same. Also contact the office of fair trading if you have to because they can do more than the ACCC. Their actions have left me unable to afford food this week, which is not easy to explain to my children. They have repeatedly lied to me and then blame their resellers for what has happened, however they will not give me contact details for the reseller as they are off shore.. funny that! I advise anyone who has been contacted by this company to tell them NO and hang up. I am really unsure why there are so many complaints here about them yet no one seems to want to contact the ACCC, that is what they are there for.

Kerring p/l aka ultimatestayz
I had a call from kerring p/l also known as ultimate stayz about 7 nights free accommodation for so called newaccommodation ventures for us to try out before thet werenot yet available to the general public. They got all my details and then scammed my credit card. They use indian offshore reps who will say anything. Be warned. When queried on such an offer they kept saying it had been on "A Current Affair" and "Today Tonight" and this is what the hotlel industry does to get eartly promotion of their properties so we will recommend it to our friends and family and itis common practice in the industry. They knew we stayed at Accor Hotels and this was part of a deal for regulars. Have contacted bank to stop payment and the bank are looking at it. Jennifer B

Hi i have taken a pack from TravelBugHolidays on 30 May 2011 i used a voucher in Sydney the accommodation was really good and it saved my money as well. I also did a research about the company legitimacy all was fine. So i suggest every to at-least have a try with this package and i am sure you will love it. Regards Allan Jose

Travel Bug Holidays is a SCAM
Travel Bug Holidays is a SCAM. Their offers are more expensive than when you book individually from sites like wotif.com. + Travel Bug holidays literally steals 200 bucks off you for their "money-saving-deal" when providing no deal at all. For example, on their site they have a deal 2-for-1, where you pay for 1 night in a hotel and stay for 2. But the price for the first night is the double of what you'd pay on wotif.com (= there's no free night.) They also have a deal "Pay for food, stay for free" but they don't tell you that you have to pay a certain amount (usually over 100 AUD) for your meal at all them hotels. All this means that: 1) you don't save a cent when staying in the hotels on their list 2) you pay Travel bug holidays 200 dollars for calling you

Don't waist your time and money on travelbug holidays .. I was tricked, with my husband sat next to me I asked about 3-4 times will we need to pay extra for anything at all to get this deal , the answer was of course NO !! Sold package deal using false information
Travelbug use unethical tele-marketers to sell their package deals giving out false information to secure the deal. After I was gullible enough to buy one of these packages I told them to ring me back in half an hour to see if my sister would buy one. During that time I found all the posts on the internet about people who had been ripped off by this company. When the supervisor phoned me back I asked to cancel my deal. They said it was too late. They said when I receive the vouchers to send them back and they would refund me then. I then spoke to the supervisor's supervisor who ended up admitting that the Indian people selling the packages do not give out the correct information because they work on commission! She promised that I would receive the refund, however, 6 weeks on I am still trying to get the money out of them. They tell you that you get 12 nights accomm for $199.00 and the only thing you pay for is travel expences. That is an absolute lie. You have to pay for another nights accomm at top rates or meals in the restaurant to use the voucher. One motel I phoned in Forster, NSW said "I think you've been scammed, I've never heard of that company". DON'T BELIEVE A WORD THEY SAY.

TRAVELBUG HOLIDAYS IS NOT A SCAM.......
I had bought some packages from them & had a great experience using these vouchers...I could easily go to the hotels which I couldn't even think of going into............!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) It is really annoying that some people are posting wrong comments regarding TRAVELBUG HOLIDAYS.... The telemarketers are also great and they always tell about all the terms & conditions and OFFERS as well................!!!!!!! The properties associated withe them are also great......................!!! I just loved the experience of being with them...!! I also spent an hour with them over the phone and that was actually WORTH it...!! since I ended up saving hundrerd's of dollars..!!!

Misleading accommodation price savings ripoff
TravelBug Holidays (Kerring Pty Ltd, North Sydney postal address)advertises '2 nights for the price of 1' deals - six vouchers for $200. However, the nightly rate they quote (not revealed in their advertising, but only after the booking is made) is far above the true nightly rate, so you end up paying more than you would by booking for yourself - and with more delay. eg Scamander Beach Resort Hotel: standard (undiscounted) price per night $130. Price given by Travelbug $190. I don't know whether the hotels knows what is going on - I suspect that they do but are choosing to ignore it.

Travel bug scam?????
I don't know if Travel Bug is a scam, it does sound too good to be true. Maybe it is a good company but someone is scamming using their name as a scam. I don't trust it when I get a call from overseas! I was interested until I logged onto the computer & saw SCAM while I was on the phone to them, then I told them I wasn't interested. I'd rather be safe than sorry. $200 is a lot of money to throw away when you have a family & a mortgage! As another person said, go directly thru the web site or call the Aust number.

Travel Bug
I went through my bank statement and saw Travel Bug and the number given was for Bio Extenze. There is no way i can track what number this "Travel Bug" goes to. I didn't authorize anything to this company and they have been taking 8.95 out of my bank account every 3 weeks and they keep doing it. I found the number and canceled whatever it was that they did with my bank account to refund my money; still nothing returned to my account as of today they took out another 8.95 within a week. I am very Angry!!!

Travelbug sucks! The information they provide is very much misleading and their customer service is extremely bad.
I have just complained to ACCC about them and lodged a complaint with the Office of Fair Trading, NSW.
Please go ahead and do this guys, it doesn't take much time and Travelbug needs to know that it can't keep running this unethical business forever.

@Victim of ultimate freestays. I have received my refund after telling the that I was going to contact the police and that the ombudsman was more than happy to get involved.
The money was put back in my bank immediately and cleared in 2 days. I told the ACCC about Kerring PTY LTD, Travel Bug Australia and Ultimate freestays.
Good luck to you. :)
Thank you Kellypel.
Kerring PTY LTD trading as Ultimate Freestays.
I am going to make that complaint ASAP. They ripped me off by telling big lies over the phone.
I know that there are hundreds out there, who have been ripped off by them
